Antonia Herrera for 4th District Cuesta College Board of Trustee
2026
“I believe education is a public good—and community colleges are where opportunity begins.
Cuesta College opens doors for working families, first-generation students, veterans, and returning learners, and I’m running to support those doors stay open.”

My name is Antonia Herrera, and I’m running for the Cuesta College 4th District Board of Trustee because every student deserves access to a supportive, affordable, and high-quality education.

First, access matters. I will work to ensure Cuesta College meets students where they are—by using data to close equity gaps and by strengthening partnerships across our community so more students can start and stay in college.

Second, student support matters. I will advocate for removing financial barriers and expanding wraparound services—academic, mental health, and basic-needs supports—so students don’t have to choose between their education and their well-being.

And third, our local economy matters. I will push for strong collaboration between Cuesta College and local employers to align programs with workforce needs—preparing students for good jobs and strengthening our regional economy.

“When we invest in students, we invest in our community’s future. That’s why I’m running—and I’d be honored to earn your support.”
